Journalist and researcher Makarios Drousiotis has accused the government of President Nikos Christodoulides of attempting to intimidate critics and conceal aspects of the “Santis” case.

In a public statement on social media, Drousiotis referred to a post by journalist Stelios Orphanides concerning a police search conducted at the home and office of lawyer Nikos Clerides.

Allegations of intimidation

According to the post cited by Drousiotis, police officers who entered Clerides’ residence during the early hours of the morning searched computer systems using keywords related to financial scandals and Clerides’ name.

Drousiotis claimed the actions indicate an attempt by the government to intimidate individuals connected to the case and suppress information related to the investigation.

Reference to journalists’ report

In his statement, Drousiotis relied on the account published by Orphanides on the BlueSky platform, where the journalist described the details of the police operation.

The claims relate to developments surrounding the “Santis” case, which continues to attract public and media attention.

At the time of publication, no official response from the government regarding the allegations had been reported.
