Police Probe Possible Kidnapping in Larnaca

A 22-year-old man is reported missing after witnesses saw individuals forcing a person into a car, while a 20-year-old suspect is wanted by police.

Police in Larnaca are investigating a possible kidnapping involving a 22-year-old man.

According to a statement from the Police Communication Branch, investigators from the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department have obtained an arrest warrant for a 20-year-old suspect as part of the inquiry.

Authorities said that shortly before midnight on Tuesday, a Larnaca resident reported a possible abduction, stating that they saw several individuals pushing an unknown person and forcing them into a vehicle.

Police officers attended the scene and, following initial examinations, secured testimony indicating that a group of individuals had earlier entered a nearby apartment and assaulted its occupants.

Further investigations established that the 22-year-old resident of the apartment is missing.

As part of ongoing inquiries, police have issued a court warrant for the arrest of the 20-year-old, who has not yet been located and is currently wanted.

The Larnaca CID continues its investigation.
