Two 28 year olds extradited from Greece, believed to be hitman and senior logistics asssassination group member, have been referred for trial at the Limassol Criminal Court, charged with eight counts over the Demosthenous killing last month, including premeditated murder, conspiracy to commit a murder and being members of a criminal organisation.

Six suspects in total now stand accused of the daylight assassination in rush hour traffic last  month, with their trial set to begin late January. The prosecutor's office requested that they remain in custody, due to flight risk and witness intimidation.

The 28 year olds' alleged involvement in the killing of the well known businessman, was entered as a separate case to the other four individuals in custody. But as their hearing process has concluded, the two cases will now be turned into a single indictment.

Hitman's clothes found

In a significant breakthrough, CID investigators have discovered the clothes that the hitman was wearing. According to a witness account heard in court, the clothes were found in a garbage bin near the home of another suspect. They include a black sports sweater and grey glasses with purple tinted lenses, now connected to the DNA of the 28 year old, who appears to be the hitman. One of the witnesses says they saw the perpetrator wearing glasses, matching the description of the ones found.

The hat opens up the case

In yet another major discovery, a second suspect has been connected with a hat that the killers dropped during the motorbike getaway. According to the prosecution, beyond the 31 year old currently serving another sentence in Central Prisons, the 28 year old hitman's DNA was also found on the hat.

Following a forensic analysis of the hat run by the State Laboratory, traces of lead and antimony were found, consistent with residue from firing a gun. This essentially means, as investigators have argued, that the hat was worn by an individual who probably shot or handled a gun, someone who was at close range when the gun was fired or even handled objects with possible traces of shooting residue.

The current indictment includes the following charges:-

1. Premeditated murder

2. Conspiracy to commit a felony

3. Conspiracy to commit murder

4. Arson

5. Illegal possession, carrying and shooting of a firearm

6. Illegal possession, carrying and use of explosives

7. Car theft

8. Participation in a criminal organisation
