Cyprus Handball Team Involved in Bus Accident in Estonia

Two taken to hospital as precaution following early-morning crash

No serious injuries were reported and there is no cause for concern, the Cyprus Handball Federation said in a statement regarding the accident involving the Cyprus men’s national team, whose coach was involved in a road accident and overturned in the early hours of Saturday while travelling from Tallinn to Põlva for their match against Estonia.

According to the statement, no serious injuries were sustained. However, two members of the delegation were taken to hospital as a precaution and remain under medical observation, while all members of the Cyprus national team are reported to be in good condition.

The Cyprus Handball Federation added that it is taking all necessary steps, both in Cyprus and abroad, to ensure the swift and safe return of the international players and the national team delegation to Cyprus.

Finally, it stressed that there is no reason for concern and urged calm, noting that further updates will be provided should new information become available.
