Urgent Appeal For Blood Donation As Reserves Reach Critical Levels

Ministry of Health has issued an urgent appeal to the public, warning that national blood and blood-product reserves have dropped to low levels, while demand continues to rise. Authorities stress that immediate public response is essential to ensure the uninterrupted treatment of patients across the healthcare system.

Blood Stocks Under Pressure

According to the Ministry, reduced donor turnout combined with increased needs for transfusions and blood derivatives is placing significant strain on available supplies. Red blood cells, plasma and platelets are in constant demand for medical treatments, surgical procedures and the management of emergency cases.

The situation is affecting the overall adequacy of blood reserves nationwide, raising concerns for hospitals and patients who rely on timely access to these vital resources.

Call To Eligible Donors

The Ministry of Health urges all citizens who meet the eligibility criteria and are in good health to visit blood donation centres across the country. Officials underline that every donation plays a critical role in maintaining sufficient blood supplies and supporting patients in need.

The contribution of blood donors is described as essential to meeting ongoing and urgent healthcare demands.
