The Municipality of Athienou announced that a new Citizen Service Centre will open on Monday, 2 February. The centre will be housed in the renovated Municipal Market building.

According to the announcement, residents will be able to access all services offered by Citizen Service Centres without travelling to other towns. This is expected to save time and effort for the public.

At present, some services will not be available. The Department of Postal Services has delayed the delivery of specialised equipment, so issuing or renewing identity cards and passports will not be possible initially.

The new centre will provide services from several government departments. These include:

Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works – Department of Road Transport,

Ministry of Interior – Department of Civil Registry and Migration,

Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance – Social Insurance Services and the Department of Welfare Benefits,

Ministry of Finance – Department of Information Services,

Ministry of Health, and

Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth.

The Municipality of Athienou expressed satisfaction with the opening of the centre. Officials said they will continue to invest in projects and services aimed at improving daily life for residents and ensuring fast and high-quality public service.
