The Urban Taxi Union (POAT) on Monday announced it was postponing its strike that had been scheduled for Tuesday, in view of ongoing contacts with the relevant authorities.

According to the union’s announcement, the decision was taken following today’s meeting with the Department of Road Transport, as well as in light of forthcoming meetings with the new Chair and members of the House Committee on Transport, and with the Licensing Authority.

POAT stated that this move constitutes a gesture of goodwill until dialogue is completed. Once the meetings are concluded, a session is expected to be convened to assess the situation and take decisions on the next steps.
