Four-Year-Old Girl Dies After Influenza A Infection

Doctors say the cause of death was multi-organ failure linked to Influenza A.

A four-year-old girl who had been hospitalised in critical condition has died due to Influenza A, according to the State Health Services Organisation (OKYpY).

In a written statement, OKYpY spokesperson Charalambos Charilaou said that the child had been transferred intubated on Saturday from Limassol General Hospital to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Makarios Hospital, where she died earlier today.

According to the attending doctors, the cause of death was multi-organ failure resulting from Influenza A.
