Nicosia Municipality Launches Citizen Registry for Direct Communication

Residents invited to submit contact details to receive alerts, announcements and updates affecting neighbourhoods and city services.

The Municipality of Nicosia has introduced a new initiative aimed at strengthening direct communication with residents through the creation of a dedicated citizen registry. The initiative is designed to enable timely and reliable updates on issues affecting neighbourhoods and daily life in the city.

According to the municipality, the registry will support more targeted information sharing with residents and improve the municipality’s ability to communicate during urgent situations.

Purpose of the registry

The new registry aims to establish a structured channel of communication between the municipality and its residents. Through this system, the Municipality of Nicosia will be able to provide timely updates on matters that affect the local community.

Information distributed through the registry may include:

  • Emergency situations and civil protection guidance
  • Important announcements concerning neighbourhoods and municipal districts
  • New municipal services and ongoing infrastructure projects
  • Municipal initiatives, activities and public events
  • Issues affecting daily life and quality of life in the city

Residents are invited to submit their contact details through an following online form.

The municipality encourages all residents to complete the form in order to receive official updates and notifications relevant to their area.

Data protection framework

The Municipality of Nicosia states that personal data collected through the registry will be used exclusively for communication purposes related to emergency updates, important announcements, municipal initiatives and public activities.

Processing of personal data will be carried out in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679 – GDPR). Residents retain the right to withdraw their consent at any time, without retroactive effect.
