An explosion occurred at approximately 03:20 on Monday at a reception venue in Nicosia district, causing damage to the premises. Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
Bomb causes damage to building
Members of the Police attended the scene shortly after the explosion, including specialists from the Explosives Disposal Unit.
Preliminary examinations indicate that the blast was caused by a bomb that was detonated outside the venue, resulting in damage to the glass façade at the front of the building.
Investigation by Nicosia CID
The area was cordoned off in order for further examinations to continue later in the morning.
The Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the case.
