Rain and Cooler Temperatures on the Way as Dust Lingers in the Air

Unsettled weather expected through Monday, with showers, thunderstorms and a noticeable drop in temperature.

Low pressure is affecting the region, bringing a mix of cloud, rain and dust over the coming days, with conditions remaining unsettled until at least Monday.

Dust will remain suspended in the atmosphere until Sunday, with concentrations expected to be elevated at times.

On Friday, the weather will be partly cloudy with medium and high cloud cover, while isolated showers are expected, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms. Winds will be mainly north-easterly to south-easterly, moderate to strong at 4 to 5 Beaufort and locally up to very strong at 6 Beaufort. The sea will be slight to moderate and locally moderate. Temperatures will reach 25°C inland, around 24°C along the coast and 18°C in the higher mountains.

Tonight, conditions will turn partly cloudy. Winds will ease to light to moderate, at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and the sea will remain up to moderate. Temperatures will drop to 13°C inland, around 16°C on the coast and 7°C in the mountains.

On Saturday, the weather will remain unsettled with intervals of cloud, local showers and isolated thunderstorms. A noticeable drop in temperature is expected, bringing values below seasonal averages.

By Sunday, skies will become mostly cloudy, with local showers and isolated thunderstorms developing after midday, mainly over mountainous areas and the eastern half of the island.

On Monday, increased cloud cover during the afternoon is expected to bring isolated showers or thunderstorms, particularly in the mountains and southern and south-eastern coastal areas.

Temperatures will fall significantly on Saturday and remain below average, with no notable change expected on Sunday and Monday.
