Access to Troodos is currently permitted only for vehicles with four-wheel drive or fitted with snow chains, due to prevailing weather conditions, according to the Police.

Roads under restriction

The following routes remain open exclusively to vehicles equipped with four-wheel drive or anti-skid chains:

  • Platres–Troodos

  • Karvounas–Troodos

  • Prodromos–Troodos

  • Kyperounta–Chandria

In addition, the roads Papoutsa–Agios Theodoros and Papoutsa–Agros are open but are reported to be particularly slippery.

Police appeal to drivers

The Police are calling on motorists to exercise heightened caution, comply with on-site instructions, and adjust their driving to road conditions in order to avoid traffic collisions.

Unstable weather conditions are affecting several areas, with storms, possible hail, and snowfall in mountainous regions, while temperatures are expected to rise gradually.
