Cyta secured five major distinctions from Ookla for the second half of 2025, reaffirming its consistent performance in mobile communications in Cyprus. The range of these recognitions reflects strong results across key performance areas, including speed, video and gaming experience.

Maintaining the fastest mobile network position for five consecutive years further reflects sustained excellence in mobile speed performance, based on independent measurements from real users through the Speedtest platform.

More specifically, Cyta received the following awards:

  • Fastest Mobile Network 5 years in a row, for the highest overall mobile speeds in Cyprus.
  • Best Mobile Network, based on the overall Connectivity Score, which combines performance in Speed Score, Web Browsing Score and Video Streaming Score.
  • Fastest 5G Network, for leading performance on its 5G network.
  • Best Mobile Video Experience, for quality and stability in high-definition video streaming.
  • Best Mobile Gaming Experience, for near-zero latency and smooth gaming performance.

Referring to the distinction, Cyta’s Chief Commercial Officer, George Metzakis, stated:

“For Cyta’s customers, this translates into stable, high performance at every moment: in calls, data usage, business operations, content streaming and smooth gaming experiences with near-zero latency. The five Ookla awards reinforce Cyta’s strategic direction of continuously upgrading its networks and confirm its role as a key pillar in Cyprus’s digital evolution.”
