A new series of workshops titled I dropped my lucky charm, and now everything is out of control will take place throughout May 2026 at Endrosia Project Space in Nicosia. Led by designer Laura Segalà Ortoll and artist Rita Borralho Silva, the programme invites participants to explore the concept of amulets through writing, movement and material practice. The initiative will conclude with a public presentation, exhibition and performance.

Structure of the programme

The programme consists of four open workshops, each focusing on a different aspect of the relationship between objects, words and personal narratives.

Participants will engage in collective processes that combine artistic experimentation with reflection on memory, protection and transformation.

Walking as practice and archive

The first workshop, taking place on Sunday 10 May, is a collective walk along the Pedieos river. Participants will explore walking both as a method of documentation and as a creative practice.

During the route, participants will search for symbolic objects, followed by storytelling and performance-based exercises. The session concludes in a natural clay environment, where materials will be collected for use in later workshops.

Writing and language exploration

On Tuesday 12 May, the programme continues with a writing workshop examining language as a transformative tool. Words are approached as objects that can shift meaning and function, allowing participants to explore personal expression through experimental writing.

Material practice with clay

The third workshop, on Tuesday 19 May, focuses on working with clay collected during the initial walk. Participants will shape physical objects inspired by their earlier writing, translating abstract ideas into tangible forms.

Collective publication process

On Thursday 24 May, participants will take part in a collective publishing workshop. Using open bookbinding techniques, they will create a shared publication incorporating texts, images and found materials.

The session is designed as a collaborative archive of the project’s process and outcomes.

Final presentation and exhibition

The programme concludes on Friday 29 May with a public event featuring an exhibition, performance and presentation of the collective publication.

The event marks the end of four weeks of research and creative engagement.

Participation and practical information

The workshops are open to the public and free to attend, with prior registration required.

Participants are encouraged to bring materials depending on each session, including comfortable clothing, writing materials and recycled paper for the publication workshop.
