Protein-Rich Crustless Cheese Pie

Header Image

This simple crustless cheese pie is a great option when you want something homemade, filling and high in protein without spending hours in the kitchen. Made with oat flour instead of pastry, it is lighter than traditional pies while still delivering rich flavour from feta cheese and olive oil.

It can be served warm or at room temperature and works equally well as a main dish, snack or light lunch.

Ingredients

Serves: 8–10

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pot (about 200 g) low-fat yoghurt (2%)
  • 150 g oat flour
  • 200 g feta cheese
  • 160 ml milk
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Method

Step 1

In a bowl, whisk the eggs. Gradually add the yoghurt, oat flour, milk, olive oil, baking powder, nutmeg and crumbled feta cheese, mixing well until the ingredients are fully combined.

Step 2

Line a baking tray with baking paper and spread the mixture evenly. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 25 minutes, until the pie is set and lightly golden.

Allow it to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
