Canadian superstar Celine Dion arrived in Paris on Friday, two weeks before the first of her sold-out concerts marking her return to the French capital.
The singer headed to the luxury Royal Monceau hotel near the Champs-Élysées, where a crowd of fans gathered behind security barriers, cheering and shouting: “Celine, we love you!”
“I have always felt supported from day one, and it’s a story that continues,” she told BFM TV, wearing dark sunglasses and a beige coat.
“It’s true that this is my second home. I appreciate you being here. Thank you very much,” she told her fans.
Autoimmune disorder
The 58-year-old star announced in March that she would perform 16 concerts in the French capital during September and October, following an extended break from live performances due to health problems.
Her most recent concerts were in 2020.
Dion performed at the Eiffel Tower during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.
The singer revealed in 2022 that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, an incurable autoimmune disorder.
She was forced to cancel the final dates of her tour due to both the Covid-19 pandemic and her health condition.
