CYENS Summer School 2026 Focuses on Artificial Intelligence

A free five-day programme will introduce students aged 15+ to AI systems and Python through hands-on learning.

The CYENS Summer School 2026, titled AI for All, will take place from 22–26 June, offering high-school students an introduction to artificial intelligence.

The programme is designed for students aged 15 and above and focuses on how modern AI systems process and generate digital images.

Participants will work through hands-on activities, learning basic Python programming while exploring contemporary AI techniques.

Pre-requisites

Students should have basic knowledge of mathematics, including:

  • Plotting functions
  • Number representations
  • Variables and basic algebra
  • Polynomials
  • Distance using the Pythagorean theorem
  • Concepts of speed and distance
  • Basic probability

The programme is part of a global initiative of the IEEE Signal Processing Society and is co-sponsored by the IEEE Signal Processing Society and the IEEE Cyprus Signal Processing and Engineering in Medicine and Biology Societies Joint Chapter.
