At an evening where music and culture came together at one of Vienna’s most emblematic venues, Conchita made a highly symbolic appearance by wearing a creation by a Cypriot designer at the event United by Music, held at the Austrian Presidential Palace under the auspices of President Alexander Van der Bellen.

The internationally recognised performer and iconic figure of the Eurovision Song Contest chose the silk scarf Yellow Sponge by Michalis Pantelidis, incorporating it with understated elegance as a pocket square in a tailored blue suit. The design forms part of a series of works inspired by the underwater world of Larnaca, where the materiality of the sea is translated into visual storytelling through textures, colours and abstract compositions.

With a strong presence on the international stage and an aesthetic balancing performance and fashion, Conchita once again highlighted the power of personal style as a means of expression.

The choice of a blue suit combined with the vivid yellow of the silk scarf created a subtle dialogue with Europe’s colour palette.

For Michalis Pantelidis, the appearance is part of a broader creative journey through which contemporary Cypriot design travels beyond geographical boundaries, conveying stories, imagery and cultural references through textile design.
