Increase of €877 Million in Deposits and €587 Million in Loans in December

Deposit and loan growth reflects seasonal trends and strong household activity

According to the latest figures from the Central Bank of Cyprus, total deposits in December 2025 rose by €877.1 million, up from a €330.8 million increase in November. Seasonal factors contributed to the December growth. On an annual basis, total deposits grew by 6.5%, slightly below November’s 6.7%, reaching a balance of €58.7 billion.

Deposits by Cyprus residents increased by €948.3 million. Household deposits rose by €622.3 million, while non-financial corporations added €51.2 million. Deposits from other domestic sectors contributed a further €274.8 million.

Total loans also saw significant growth, rising by €587.2 million in December, compared with a €71.5 million increase in November. Annual growth of total loans reached 10.7%, up from 10.5% the previous month, with the overall loan balance at €27.1 billion.

Loans to Cyprus residents increased by €250.5 million. Loans to households grew by €113.0 million, and loans to non-financial corporations rose by €150.1 million. Loans to other domestic sectors decreased slightly, by €12.6 million.
