The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, arrived in Istanbul for talks with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on Saturday.
In a post on social media, Zelenskyy said he arrived in Istanbul to hold “important meetings”, including “substantive talks” with Erdoğan.
“We are working to strengthen our partnership to ensure real protection of people’s lives, advance stability and guarantee security in our Europe, as well as in the Middle East. Joint efforts always deliver the best results,” he said.
According to Zelenskyy’s spokesperson, the Ukrainian President will also meet with the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew during his visit.
