Cyprus continues to serve as a maritime corridor for sending humanitarian aid to Gaza via Israel, with a new shipment of 940 tons of humanitarian aid arriving at the port of Ashdod, said the Cyprus Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.
The aid, which left from Cyprus, is to be delivered to the civilians in Gaza via the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
The humanitarian supplies consist of food items and shelter equipment, adding to the 27,000 tons of aid that have already been distributed in Gaza through the Cyprus maritime corridor, noted the ministry in a tweet on X.

“The implementation of the Amalthea Plan continues, in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates and in coordination with UNOPS and international partners, including other EU Member States,” said the foreign ministry.
“Cyprus will continue to actively contribute in the humanitarian field in coordination with its partners, always under the auspices of the United Nations,” it added.
