Larnaca Airport Records 48 Flight Cancellations on Wednesday

Disruptions linked to Middle East crisis affect arrivals and departures throughout the day.

Flight cancellations to and from Larnaca Airport continued on Wednesday amid the ongoing situation in the Middle East. A total of 48 flights, comprising both arrivals and departures, were cancelled between the early hours of the morning and late evening.

According to the website of Hermes Airports, the managing company of Cyprus’ airports, 24 arrival flights scheduled between 5:30am and 11:05pm were cancelled. In addition, 24 departure flights scheduled between 5:30am and 11:20pm were also cancelled.

Airlines affected

Since the day before yesterday, cancellations have been recorded for flights from European countries including Germany, England and Austria.

Major airlines such as British Airways, Lufthansa, EasyJet and Austrian Airlines have suspended their flight programmes to and from Cyprus.

Passengers with scheduled travel are urged to contact their airline or travel agent before travelling to the airport.
