Nine "Christmas Villages" will operate across all districts of Cyprus this Christmas, the Deputy Ministry of Tourism has announced.
Specifically, according to the ministry, Christmas Villages will run in Agros, Deryneia, Kakopetria, Kalopanagiotis, Kyperounta, Lefkara, Lofou, Stato-Agios Fotios and Fikardou.
The ministry added that the Christmas Villages for the upcoming festive season will run from 21 November 2026 to 6 January 2027.
According to the Deputy Ministry, the selection was made following the completion of an evaluation process for applications submitted under the Grant Scheme for Community and Municipal Councils along the "Heartland of Legends" route.
The ministry said the scheme continues its initiative to organise Christmas Villages in municipalities and communities, events it describes as having proven successful and popular over the past five years.
It added that the selected destinations will be decorated for the festive season and will include wooden huts selling local products and handicrafts, hands-on workshops in crafts and wine and food, nature activities such as trail walking and cycling, guided village tours, and other surprises.
The Deputy Ministry of Tourism said its ultimate goal is for the Christmas Villages, with their local character, to be enriched every year so that they become a draw for both local and foreign visitors.
More information on the programme and activities for each Christmas Village will be posted on the dedicated website, www.christmasvillages.com.cy.
