Cyprus sailor Pavlos Kontides claimed the silver medal at a coaching regatta in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland, in a competitive fleet that included Olympic medallists and leading sailors from across the world.
Kontides, who secured his third European title last month, finished second overall with 45 penalty points. Britain's Eliot Hanson won the event on 39 points, while Croatia's Tonci Stipanovic took third place on 49 points. Across nine races, Kontides recorded four second-place and two third-place finishes.
The Cypriot sailor described the regatta as a valuable opportunity to familiarise himself with local conditions and to measure himself against a high-calibre international field in the same waters that will host the World Sailing Championships in August.
Kontides will return briefly to Cyprus before travelling to Los Angeles for a training camp and two preparatory regattas ahead of the world title defence.
