The town planning permit for the paving and regeneration of Paralimni's central core has been secured, according to an announcement by the Paralimni-Deryneia Municipality. The municipal authority received the town planning permit on Monday, 10 August, a development that firmly places this significant infrastructure project on track for implementation. As stated in the announcement, securing the town planning permit constitutes an important step towards the implementation of a project that forms part of the overall plan for the upgrading of Paralimni's town centre.
The plan includes, among other things, the replacement of the existing road surface, the upgrading and creation of new pavements, new tree planting and green spaces, areas serving shops and visitors, as well as the creation of parking spaces.
"The aim is to create a modern, functional and accessible urban environment, which will improve the daily lives of residents, strengthen commercial and social activity, and enhance Paralimni's image in the eyes of foreign visitors. The municipal authorities believe that the new central square beside the Church of Agios Georgios, combined with the upcoming regeneration of the core, as well as the creation of the multi-storey car park next to the Paralimni-Deryneia Municipal Building, will together form a single modern project of European standards, as well as a new landmark for the coming generations of Paralimni."
Following the securing of the town planning permit, the finalisation of the construction plans and the necessary technical studies will follow, along with the process of issuing the building permit. Once the required approvals have been completed, construction of the project will begin.
