A fire that broke out on Saturday morning within the administrative boundaries of the Alambra community was brought under full control within 20 minutes.
According to the Forestry Department, the fire broke out at 9:40am and was brought under full control by 10:00am, after burning through an area of two donums of dry grass and agricultural crops.
The swift response of firefighting forces proved decisive, as it prevented the fire from spreading to a nearby house that was in immediate danger.
12 members of the Forestry Department took part in the operation, with four fire engines and one agricultural tractor, while the Fire Service also provided assistance with five firefighters and two fire engines.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the relevant authorities.
