The hearing for the remand order against the parents of a four-year-old boy who died after a fall in Egkomi has been set for 10:00 a.m. today.
The boy fell from a great height yesterday afternoon at the block of flats where he lived, under circumstances that are still under investigation. He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out today to determine the exact cause of death.
As part of the investigation, court warrants were issued for the arrest of the child's parents, a 32-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman. They were arrested and are due to appear before the Court, where police will seek detention orders for the purposes of the investigation.
The Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is investigating the case.
