The car a 36-year-old groom brought to Limassol Traffic Police was, by investigators’ account, missing just about everything a car needs to drift. Police believe the vehicle is not the one filmed carrying out dangerous manoeuvres at the Linopetra roundabout last Saturday.
The groom handed the vehicle in on Monday. He is in custody along with his 28-year-old best man, and the car is now at the centre of the police investigation into the incident.
What was handed over to police
According to what was heard before Limassol District Court, investigators believe the body handed in is not the same vehicle seen in the video.

Police found the car was essentially a “skeleton”. It had no engine, gearbox, seats or steering wheel, and other basic components were also missing. It also carried different markings from the vehicle in the footage.
Search for the vehicle in the video
Police are continuing their inquiries to trace the vehicle allegedly used in the drift display. Roads around the roundabout were temporarily closed off during the display.
Offences under investigation
The offences under investigation include dangerous driving, causing a public nuisance and obstructing traffic.
