A fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon at a former brewery building on Demostheni Severi Street in Nicosia, was put under control at around 6pm.
According to the Fire Service, the building had been completely engulfed by flames and its roof collapsed.
In a post on X, Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis said five fully staffed fire engines, including a telescopic platform appliance, had been deployed to tackle the fire.
He added that firefighters are prioritising the protection of neighbouring buildings and premises to prevent the fire from spreading.
