The 53-year-old was arrested at Nice Airport over alleged usurpation of Greek Cypriot property in the occupied areas.

Formal procedures must be completed before the Lithuanian estate agent, arrested in France on 16 May, is extradited to the Republic of Cyprus.

She is suspected of involvement in the alleged usurpation of Greek Cypriot properties in the occupied areas. No date has yet been set for her transfer.

Competent sources confirmed to the Cyprus News Agency that the extradition would take place “as soon as the formal procedures are completed”.

Appeal rejected by French court

The woman was arrested at Nice Airport under a European arrest warrant issued by the Republic of Cyprus. In early July, she appealed against the warrant’s execution, but a French court rejected her challenge.

CNA reported on 11 July that the appeal was expected to take between two weeks and one month to be examined by the relevant court. The court has since rejected the 53-year-old’s request to prevent the warrant from being executed.

Transfer to Cypriot authorities

The European arrest warrant will now be executed and the woman handed over to the authorities of the Republic of Cyprus to stand trial on the charges she faces, according to the same sources.
