Dimi Mavropoulos Died by Drowning, Post-Mortem Finds

Forensic pathologists found multiple injuries consistent with rough seas as authorities continue investigating the incident.

 

The body of the 76-year-old businessman was recovered last Saturday from the sea off Cape Greco. Police said the findings were consistent with the conditions reported at the time of the incident.

Post-mortem findings

The post-mortem examination was conducted on Monday by forensic pathologists Angeliki Papetta and Orthodoxos Orthodoxou.

The examination established drowning as the cause of death, with multiple injuries also found on Mavropoulos’ body.

According to the forensic pathologists, the injuries were consistent with the reported circumstances, namely the rough seas and an accidental impact involving the vessel on which he had been travelling.

The relevant authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the fatal incident.
