After three years in Belgrade, the club moves to Cyprus’s largest indoor arena, with the decision open to review.

The Spyros Kyprianou Athletic Centre in Limassol will be Maccabi Tel Aviv’s new home venue in the EuroLeague. The competition approved the move for the 2026-27 season, until further notice, and says the decision will be reviewed depending on the situation in the region.

First home game next week

From round 11 of the EuroLeague, which begins next week, Oded Kattash’s team will play its EuroLeague home games in Limassol.

Maccabi Tel Aviv’s first opponent at the Spyros Kyprianou arena will be Hapoel Tel Aviv, coached by Dimitris Itoudis.

Cyprus’s largest indoor arena

The venue is the largest indoor basketball arena in Cyprus:

  • Capacity of 8,000 spectators
  • Hosted the 15 games of Group C at EuroBasket 2025, in which the national teams of Cyprus and Greece took part

Leaving Belgrade after three years

Maccabi decided to relocate after three years in Belgrade, where it played at the Aleksandar Nikolić Hall, also known as the Pioneer Arena.

The club hopes it will be able to return to its home venue in Tel Aviv in the near future.

The EuroLeague announced the change of venue on its official website, stating among other things:

“We will continue to closely monitor the evolution of the situation in the region and remain in contact with all parties involved. The public will be informed in good time of any possible changes to these decisions, should the situation in the region normalise.”
