District administration teams are continuing on-site inspections in communities and municipalities affected by the severe weather on 29 August 2026.
The Ministry of Interior said 183 homes had so far been affected across 20 communities and three municipalities, mainly in Nicosia district. Damage to public infrastructure has also been recorded.
Assessments focus on serious cases
Priority is being given to properties where the damage is considered more extensive and severe.
The assessment and recording process remains under way across Cyprus.
How affected residents can apply
To speed up the process, the Ministry has asked those affected to submit the following information to their respective district administration by Monday, 7 September 2026:

Financial assistance criteria
The Ministry of Interior is handling applications concerning homes, business premises and vehicles.
The eligibility criteria and amount of ex gratia financial assistance granted to those affected will be determined by a decision of the Council of Ministers.
