The Meteorological Department issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms on Tuesday afternoon. It will be in effect from 02:00 to 18:00 on Wednesday, 28 October.
According to the Department, isolated severe thunderstorms are expected to affect the western half of the island initially at intervals, and other areas from midday onwards. Rainfall intensity is expected to range between 35 and 55 millimetres per hour, and hail is also possible.
Wind gusts during the thunderstorms may temporarily reach 7 to 8 Beaufort, the Meteorological Department concluded.
