The weather will be mostly clear, although intervals of increased high cloud will be observed at times. Winds will blow mainly south‑westerly to north‑westerly, initially light to moderate at 3–4 Beaufort, before strengthening later in the day to generally moderate to strong at 4–5 Beaufort. Locally, especially along the south and east coasts, winds may reach very strong levels of up to 6 Beaufort.
The sea will be slight to moderate.
Temperatures will rise to around 31°C inland, 29°C on the south and east coasts, 25°C on the west and north coasts, and about 22°C in the higher mountain regions.
Periods of increased medium and high cloud are expected, while locally increased low cloud will also form, particularly in coastal areas. Later and during the early morning hours, isolated areas of thin fog or fog may develop.
Winds will remain south‑westerly to north‑westerly, locally variable, light at 3 Beaufort and at times along the coasts light to moderate at 3–4 Beaufort. The sea will become slight in the west, north and south, and calm to slight in the east.
Temperatures will fall to about 17°C inland and along the coasts, and around 13°C in the higher mountains.
The outlook
On Thursday, periods of increased medium and high cloud are expected, with winds strengthening during the afternoon, mainly along the coasts. Increased low cloud is expected at night.
On Friday, the weather will be partly cloudy, with the possibility of brief, isolated showers. Winds will be significantly stronger, particularly in coastal areas.
On Saturday, locally increased cloud is expected at times, which after midday may give isolated showers over mountainous areas and regions south of Troodos.
Temperatures will remain at similar levels on Thursday, before a temporary drop on Friday, bringing them below seasonal averages. A rise is expected again on Saturday, with temperatures returning close to normal for the time of year.
