Seasonal low pressure is affecting the area.
Today, in most areas of the island, the weather will be mainly clear with intervals of increased cloud. However, from around midday onwards, developing cloud is expected to bring isolated showers or even thunderstorms, mainly in mountainous areas and possibly in parts of the interior. Winds will initially be sea breezes at 3 Beaufort and will soon shift mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, gradually becoming moderate to strong and locally strong at the coasts by the afternoon, at 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea in the east will be calm to slight, while on the remaining coasts it will be generally slight. Temperatures will rise to around 37°C inland, around 29°C on the west coast, around 32°C on the remaining coasts and around 26°C in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will be mainly clear. Winds will blow mainly westerly to northwesterly, light at 3 Beaufort and at times locally moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea in the south and east will be calm to slight, while in the west and north it will remain slight. Temperatures will drop to around 22°C inland and along the coast and around 16°C in the higher mountains.
On Tuesday, in most areas of the island, the weather will be mainly clear with intervals of increased cloud. However, from midday onwards, developing cloud is expected to bring isolated showers or thunderstorms, mainly in mountainous areas.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the weather will be mainly clear with intervals of increased cloud.
Temperatures will remain at similar levels until Thursday, continuing slightly above the seasonal average.
