Fire crews remain at the scene to prevent flare-ups, while the total burned area will be assessed once operations end.

Firefighters have contained the blaze that broke out on Thursday afternoon in dry grass and wild vegetation in the Arsos community of Limassol district.

Crews remain in the area to fully extinguish any remaining hotspots and prevent possible flare-ups.

Fire perimeter secured

Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis said in an updated post on X that the perimeter had been secured. The total area affected will be calculated and announced once the operation is completed.

Three organised volunteer groups assisted state firefighting forces, while private water tankers helped maintain the water supply to fire engines.
