The fires erupted at around 12:40pm and were brought fully under control by 1:45pm, burning a total of four donums of wild low vegetation.
According to the Forestry Department, 25 personnel supported by five fire engines, a water tanker and a bulldozer took part in the firefighting operation. They were assisted by four firefighters with two fire engines from the Fire Service, as well as a local resident using a tractor.
The department said the five fire fronts appeared one after another along the route and confirmed that the incidents are being investigated as acts of arson.
