Cyprus will remain under hot and mostly clear conditions on Tuesday, August 11, with temperatures reaching 40°C in parts of the interior.
The Department of Meteorology has issued another yellow warning, which will be in effect from 2pm until 4pm. Isolated afternoon showers are also possible over the mountains.
Tonight’s forecast
Conditions will be mainly clear, although increased low cloud may develop locally at times.
Winds will blow mainly from the northwest to northeast at around 3 Beaufort, while the sea will be calm to slightly rough.
Temperatures will fall to 21°C inland, around 23°C along the coast and 19°C in the higher mountains.
Tuesday’s weather
The weather will remain mostly clear, although temporarily increased cloud cover over the mountains could bring isolated afternoon showers.
Winds will initially be light and variable at around 3 Beaufort, gradually becoming southwesterly to northwesterly at 3 to 4 Beaufort. In some southern areas, winds may strengthen to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough.
Temperatures are forecast to reach 39°C inland, around 32°C on the western and southwestern coasts, 35°C along the remaining coastal areas and 29°C in the higher mountains.
Outlook for the coming days
Tuesday night will be mainly clear, with light northwesterly to northeasterly winds and a calm to slightly rough sea.
Mainly clear conditions are expected to continue through Thursday. Temporarily increased afternoon cloud over the mountains may produce isolated showers.
Temperatures will remain largely unchanged and slightly above the seasonal average.
