The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Larnaca has begun taking statements as part of an investigation into plasmapheresis machines reportedly found at a medical centre, Cyprus News Agency (CNA) has learned.
The investigation is in full swing after CID Larnaca received a letter from the Medical Services Department, dated 14 September. The letter refers to two medical centres, at one of which plasmapheresis machines appear to have been found.
Following receipt of the letter, CID Larnaca was instructed to investigate, together with the Medical Services Department, whether the operation of the machines breaches legislation.
A meeting was held in recent days and an investigative team has been formed to look into the matters raised in the letter.
The investigation is being carried out in cooperation with Medical Services and in conjunction with the findings of a previous investigation, which followed a 2023 letter concerning the same medical centre.
