The doses come from the ministry’s own stock after requests by medical and pharmacy bodies, and are due within two weeks.

The Ministry of Health has approved the release of 10,000 doses of flu vaccine to the private sector from the stocks it had secured for the 2026-2027 season. The vaccines are expected to be available in Cyprus within the next two weeks.

Requests from medical and pharmaceutical associations

The release follows requests made in October 2026 by the Pancyprian Medical Association and the Pancyprian Pharmaceutical Association to meet needs that had arisen in the private sector.

The decision forms part of the Ministry’s efforts to ensure an adequate supply of flu vaccines during the 2026-2027 season. Both associations have already been informed.

No impact on the national programme

The Ministry clarified that releasing the 10,000 doses to the private sector does not affect its planning for flu vaccinations in the 2026-2027 season.

It said the necessary steps have been taken to ensure that the quantities originally planned for the national vaccination programme remain secured.
