Anna Aristotelous is seeking immediate placement in an established Director General post, with effect from December 1, 2025, following a court decision that annulled her suspension.
The request was submitted to the Council of Ministers by her lawyer, Christos M. Triantafyllides, in a letter dated July 2, 2026, addressed through the Secretary to the Council of Ministers.
Triantafyllides said the Administrative Court ruled on June 17, 2026, to annul the decision that had placed Aristotelous on suspension as of December 5, 2025.
According to the letter, Aristotelous had accepted her appointment as Director General from December 1, 2025. However, she has not yet been assigned to an established post that would allow her to carry out the duties provided for under the relevant scheme of service.
Her lawyer is therefore calling on the Council of Ministers, in light of the court ruling, to proceed immediately with her placement in an established Director General position, with retroactive effect from the date of her appointment.
The request comes as the Council of Ministers, during an extraordinary meeting on June 22, decided to recommend to the Public Service Commission that Aristotelous be placed on suspension again.
