New Faces Appointed to Boards of Cyprus Semi-Governmental Organisations

Government approves new boards for key public bodies, including Cyta, the EAC, CyBC, THOC and the Ports Authority.

 

The Council of Ministers has approved new boards of directors for a wide range of semi-governmental organisations and major public bodies, appointing professionals from business, law, economics, academia, sport and technical fields.

The appointments cover organisations including the Cyprus Sports Organisation, the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation, the Cyprus Theatre Organisation, the Cyprus Ports Authority, Cyta and the Electricity Authority of Cyprus.

The appointments by organisation are as follows:

Cyprus Sports Organisation

Chairman: Yiannis Ioannou, business administration

Vice-chairman: Rikkos Pattichis, physical education teacher

Dimitra Eleftheriou appointed to Foni Council

President Nikos Christodoulides also appointed Dimitra Eleftheriou as chairwoman of the Foni Council, which oversees the implementation of the national strategy against the sexual abuse and exploitation of children.

Eleftheriou graduated from the University of Nicosia and has more than 20 years of professional experience in strategic communications and public relations.

Alongside her professional career, she has been actively involved in social initiatives, with a particular focus on children’s welfare and health. She is a board member of the Miracle Babies Association, supporting premature babies and their families, and has also served as an ambassador for social initiatives.
