Karolina Pelendritou returns to action at the European Para Swimming Championships, which will take place in Kocaeli, Turkey, from September 7 to 12.
According to a press release, the three-time Paralympic gold medallist will compete in the 50m freestyle S11, with the heats scheduled for Monday morning (September 7) at 09:00 and the final later that afternoon.
The event will be Pelendritou's second competition in 2026. In May, at the Para Swimming World Series Paris 2026, she won the silver medal in the 100m breaststroke SB11 and finished fifth in the 50m freestyle S11.
Karolina Pelendritou has won seven European medals in her career, including three golds, in Berlin in 2011, Eindhoven in 2014 and Madeira in 2024.
In Madeira, she also won two silver medals, in 2021 and 2024, and a bronze in 2016.
Of her seven European medals, only the 2024 gold came in the 50m freestyle, with the other six won in the 100m breaststroke.
