According to testimony from a friend of the 39 year old, the husband was intensely jealous and was disturbed by her posts on social media. Another acquaintance stated that the woman had approached an association for abused women.
Police sources state that the 39 year old had moved away from her husband with the intention of divorcing him, while he was attempting to reconcile.
Child psychologists have taken on the two children.
The crime occurred while the couple’s two children, aged 10 and 6 years, were in a neighbouring room. The children are being monitored by child psychologists and have undergone blood tests in accordance with the relevant protocols.
During the investigation at the home, a pack of sedatives without a medical prescription was found, leading authorities to examine the possibility of further toxicological tests if deemed necessary.
Facing serious charges, before the investigating judge on Friday
The accused was taken to the Kalamata courthouse under strict security measures. Criminal prosecution was brought against him for intentional homicide, domestic violence and violations of arms legislation. He was given time to present his defence on Friday before the investigating judge.
