Indian PM Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Cyprus-India Strategic Partnership

Following reciprocal state visits, the leaders of Cyprus and India exchanged social media posts, confirming the growing ties between the world’s largest democracy and the EU’s easternmost member.

 

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked President Nikos Christodoulides for his wishes on becoming “the longest-serving Prime Minister in India’s history” and expressed his commitment to further strengthen the strategic partnership with Cyprus.

In a tweet, posted on Wednesday, the Indian PM wrote on ‘X’: "Thank you President Christodoulides for your warm wishes. I fondly recall your recent state visit to India and fully reciprocate your commitment to further strengthen the time-tested friendship and strategic partnership between India and Cyprus.”

President Christodoulides had earlier congratulated PM Modi on becoming “the longest-serving Prime Minister in India’s history”, noting that "this remarkable milestone reflects years of dedicated service and leadership. Cyprus values its strategic partnership with India and is committed to further deepening our cooperation for the benefit of our peoples".
