The Foreign Ministry is handling plans for the 18 September electronic music event through diplomatic channels.

Plans to hold an international music festival at Kyrenia Castle in the occupied north are being addressed through diplomatic channels by the Republic of Cyprus.

The NEXUS electronic music festival, organised by Serbian events group EXIT in partnership with a company operating in the occupied areas, is scheduled for 18 September.

Foreign Ministry handling the issue

A source at the Deputy Ministry of Culture told CNA that the planned event “is being handled diplomatically by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs”.

The Cypriot government had already been briefed about the festival, according to information reported on Wednesday.

Festival planned for September

Organisers have promoted the event under the slogan “where history meets the future”, announcing Kyrenia Castle as its venue.

EXIT is among Europe’s largest electronic music festivals. According to the organisers, artists from several European countries are expected to take part in the NEXUS event.

The Serbian group is working with a company in the occupied areas that specialises in organising large-scale events and music festivals.
