US President Donald Trump has criticised the current structure of US support for NATO, describing it as unfair and one-sided.
In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump stated that "it is ridiculous for the United States to continue along this one-sided path when the relationship is not reciprocal."
He further argued that NATO allies "were not there for us," suggesting that Washington's commitments to the alliance have not been matched by the support offered by other member states.
The remarks are the latest in a series of criticisms by Trump regarding burden-sharing within NATO, an issue he has repeatedly raised throughout his political career.
