The Jordanian Armed Forces said on Wednesday that 18 of 20 missiles launched from Iran were successfully intercepted, while the remaining two landed in uninhabited areas of the kingdom.
According to a military statement, Jordan came under a missile attack originating from Iranian territory during the past several hours.

The military said the country's air defence systems responded to the attack and successfully destroyed the majority of the incoming missiles.
"The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was subjected, during the last few hours, to a missile attack originating from Iranian territory," the statement said.
It added that air defence units "successfully intercepted and destroyed 18" of the missiles.
Missiles landed in uninhabited areas
According to the military, the remaining two missiles fell in unpopulated locations.
