The Sea Wolf-I exercise will run from 20 to 24 September, spanning waters from the Black Sea to the Eastern Mediterranean.

The Turkish Navy will conduct a large-scale surface exercise across the Black Sea, Sea of Marmara, Aegean Sea and Eastern Mediterranean from 20 to 24 September, according to Turkey's Ministry of Defence.

The exercise, named Sea Wolf-I, is designed to develop decision-making capabilities in a multiple-threat environment and test coordination between different branches of the Turkish Armed Forces.

Exercise spans four maritime regions

Naval activities will take place simultaneously across the four maritime regions, giving Turkish forces an opportunity to test operational and inter-service coordination over a wide geographical area.

According to the Turkish Defence Ministry, a principal objective is to strengthen the ability of forces to make decisions and operate effectively when confronted with multiple threats.

A Distinguished Visitors' Day will take place on 24 September in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Activities will centre on the TCG Anadolu, Turkey's largest warship.

Follows Sea Wolf-II exercise

Sea Wolf-I follows the Sea Wolf-II exercise held in June across the same four maritime regions.

The earlier exercise involved 125 ships and 60 aerial assets.

Its Distinguished Visitors' Day was also hosted aboard the TCG Anadolu, off the coast of Antalya.
